Following on from a previous post, it was excellent to see 20+ representatives of Traditional Owner groups from across the region attend a full day workshop in Brisbane last week to discuss Tourism. Awesome participation that generated lots of discussion and clarity on the way forward. Onto Phase 2!
Thank you to the organisations that presented case studies and industry information including Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation, Nunukul Yuggera Dancing, Mossman Gorge / ILC, Yugembeh Museum, the Western Australia Indigenous Tourism Operators Council, the University of Queensland and Griffith University.
And a big shout out to the other organisations that make up the Coordinating Committee, helping to make this a strong and sustainable initiative – Queensland South Native Title Service, Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation, Indigenous Business Australia, Indigenous Land Corporation, University of Queensland, Griffith University, Queensland Tourism Industry Council, and the Department of Tourism, Major Events, Small Business & the Commonwealth Games.
